BANGKOK: -- The southern region will face more heavy to very heavy rains, while the northern region will become colder and Bangkok will experience cool temperature this week, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department Monday.

The weather forecaster said over the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains will be expected in six provinces in the South. They are Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.

It warned people living in these provinces to be on alert as accumulated rain water could trigger flashflood and massive flooding. Danger from landslides and mudslides are also warned.

For the Gulf of Thailand, the weather forecaster said 2-3 metres high waves are expected in the Gulf from Surat Thani down.

Small boats should be remained at shore, it said while cautioning sailing in the sea by bigger fishing boats.

The "cooler" season in the north seems even worse than last year.( and last year was bad! )  Can't wait to get to the cold of europe next month.

I really love the weather at the moment in Hua Hin very nice wind in the morning quite cold.

Lots of flies lately hanging around , a sure sign of big rain coming.
