Non O based on having a Thai Child

Hi forum members.

I am a 36yr old South African living in Korat.

I am currently on a single entry tourist Visa and hoping to change that to a Non O next month when my visa is due to expire.

I have a Thai child who is 11 months old and my fiance and I reside together. I got my tourist visa from Savannakhet and I'm hoping to go back there to get my Non O.

1. What are the requirements and what documents do I need to take with me for a Non O?

2. Should I apply for a Non O single or multiple entry?

2. Would I need to take along my fiancé and baby with me?

1. You will need your child's birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their house book registry.

2. You can only get a single entry non-o visa in Savannakhet based upon being the parent of a Thai.

3. Not required.

You can apply for 60 day extension to visit your child at a immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht. You could get one for the 60 day entry from your tourist visa.

Getting a 60 day extension of the 90 day entry from the non-o would allow you to stay about 5 months without needing another visa.

Thank you for the advice ubonjoe. After the 90days and extension of 60days, will I then need to apply for a new Non O single entry? Are financials required at Savannakhet? Can I apply for a working permit on a Non O single entry?

You will need to get a new visa.

You can get a work permit with a single entry non-o visa.

You could get a multiple entry non-o Penang if you can show 400k baht in a bank or proof of income.

You could get a one year extension of stay at immigration if you legitimized your parenthood. Info is in this topic.
