hello all , i just signed up for this site, and want to ask some member if they know what this mean when a male says it back to you.

A couple of times now they have replied back to me when i say hello to them they just reply back and say   TIGHT

But for some strange reason no Thai will tell me what it actually means when it is said, Does anyone on this forum know ?

                Thank you so much

really is that what it means ?? are you sure   no i am not gay ,, but it just seems there could be some other meaning to that word because the ones that has said it to me are not gay and i was not chatting to any one on a gay site when it was said back to me.

I have asked 5 different thai guys for the meaning and they will not tell me they just change the subject

I don't know what 'Tight' means as a response to 'Hello' but in general usage, if you are 'tight' with someone, it means you're close to them/friends with them or that you trust them. It's really weird to reply 'tight' when someone says hello, though. No-one has ever said that to me. Usual responses to hello would be hi, hello, what's up? etc.

They probably thought it meant something and when you asked, they we're too embarrassed to admit that they screwed up. After all if an English speaker can't understand your English what can you say?
