This forum is full of people with questions who are looking for help and useful information. There are many people here who are willing to help them with their questions and problems.

Then there are several people whose primary function in here appears to be to try to get a rise out of someone, anyone they can.

They enter a battle of wits but are almost completely unarmed. When they find that they are losing, they reach for the only weapon they brought with them – the flamethrower.

Come on people – if you don’t like what someone says, say so intelligently. If you can’t do that, start another thread for your ranting and raving and let the rest of us decide whether we want to join you or not. Or, better yet, PM them with your vulgarities. Don’t make the rest of us wade through your childish ranting on the thread while trying to help or find some information. A little light humor is fine, but nobody likes cheap shots.

Trolls can be ignored. If nobody replies to them, they’ll get bored and bother another forum.

I expect I’ll get some of the usual replies to this such as “If you don’t like it, get lost” and worse.

That’s okay. I may decide that it’s not worth the trouble, take your advice and lose this bookmark.

On the other hand, this is a good forum and could be great if we would all show more maturity in dealing with each other.

I’m not naming any names here. I’m just trying to add another voice to the call for self-restraint. Others have said it before and they have been ignored as well. So, I’m really not optimistic that this post will be very well received. But I feel it needs to be said.

So, go ahead – flame away. Show your arse and your limited vocabulary to thousands of readers. And I’ll add your name to my list of those not worth the trouble of responding to.

I am with you on this, I can be a little straight forward sometimes, but I dont go into every thread with my chest puffed out. It seems that the forum rules have changed yet again about posting "anything" including pro war/anti Muslim - if that is ok now, let us all know and then we can all get back to did not/did to type postings......... Leave the war crap in the pit, I vent my disgust in there every day and then come back to this forum and have a laugh.......

Has the rules changed or not DR or George??

I agree with you 100% unfortunately there are those that specialise in trolling, ignore them, dont read a thread if it starts to get on your nerves (goes off topic, full of trolls etc or is politically orientated) The secret to surviving the trolls is to just ignore them... once youve finished giving them a peice of your mind that is :o

I will just assume that this doesn't apply to me.

I usually know far more about the subject that is being discussed than my adversaries, and make better points time after time, and only reach for the flamethrower, after I have proven them wrong and am tired of them hanging around bothering me; Like getting rid of a blood-sucking parasite.

It's the only way to get a rest! :o

For the rest of us a minimum education should be proved, like knowledge of Latin and antic Greek.
