Somehow you have quoted a quote I didn't quote under my user name and failed to quote the quote I quoted or my post...

And sh!t happens but you and the thousands of others avidly awaiting your next post managed to work it out.

Entirely up to you. Now, have you found a decent substitute service yet?

Canceled my Truevisions Platinum subscription and purchased a Bt5000 Andriod box, good bye True

Is the fact that you had a 'Platinum' subscription worth mentioning specifically? Others are more circumspect in boasting their fiscal fortitude... or foolishness, whichever applies.

looks like they just dumped another batch of useless channels that no one ever watches.  so far I actually prefer what they replaced the HBO channels with; not great but neither was HBO..  HBO had some 'signature' shows like "the Girls" but those were useless because they always dealt with adult content-which meant they'd get the Thai/Malaysian chop block and who wants to watch an edited version, better to just get the discs and see the show the producer/directors/actors created, not a bastardized version.  at this point most shows are better viewd over Idevices and not broadcast over satelite dish.  The only thing True and satelite TV is still good for is live sports.

How does this 5000 baht work? Is it easy to switch between channels? Does it come with a remote? Thanks for reply.

Point 1:I worked it out, but still not sure why you didn't quote me correctly.

Still you do seem to have over reacted rather unnecessarily aggressively to being told this.

Point 2: 5 years ago. True is, and has been for a long time, a worthless piece of faeces.

Happening all the time since TV 'improved' the site. Just leads to confusion. But that's progress.

This also sounds like a blatant lie. TV companies make money by selling their product to international markets such as TRUE. Why would they wish to pull out?

Let's see if they continue in Malaysia and Singapore.

It is a blatant lie.

Astro in Malaysia continues to broadcast these channels as well as the HBO channels and Cinemax.

IndoVision in Indonesia continues to broadcast these channels as well as the HBO channels and Cinemax.

TrueVisions is lying.

why subscribe to rubbish, get an android box

I am a television junky, also was, always will be. I stopped using Truevisions almost 5 years ago and do not miss it for a second.

Crap channels with the same shows  over and over with censored cigarettes, guns and edited to the point where it is not worth watching the programs.

Then there are the same commercials playing every 10 mins and sometimes back to back.

Now I download everything, no crappy subtitles. I watch what I want when I want.

Truevisions will never see another baht of my money. Good riddance.

Most people stream these days. Downloading is old hat.

This is a legitimate business decision. Consumers should respect this and if they do not like it vote with their wallets.

Well then I wonder why 1 million people a day access Kickasstorrents alone not to mention all of the other torrent sites?

Maybe I am a dinosaur but I like to have a bunch of TV shows and videos downloaded and ready to watch whenever I want to watch them.

Either way there is a lot of better options than Truevisions. Whatever floats your boat.

Didn't mean to come across as stroppy, sorry.  What I meant is that quotes being incorrectly attributed is something that is more common since the forums design changed.

With you on TRUE although my experience was up-country and ended well over 5 years ago.

The problem with streaming is that you need fast and reliable internet. Unfortunately you can't have that if your provider is True. Streaming is pretty bad in the evenings, when it is the only time available to many people.

Is kickass alive again, somewhere? You can PM me if it is.

Makes me so happy to cancel my service finally. The latest cuts were the final straw.
Fox is suing Bangkok bank for the failure of CTH and GMM and not backing up the bank guarantees. Interesting times.
International operators always get stiffed in Thailand.
William L Monson knows all about it and should be a lesson to all operators here of what goes on.

Really was just stating what I had, not really necessarily focus on "fiscal fortitude" as you were.

Never been and never will be a True customer....

What alternatives are there with Thai language subtitles?

I have an Android box with Kodi and several add-ons installed.

After selecting which movie I want to watch I can select Thai subtitles so my missus can enjoy the movie too.

The font size can also be personalized so the end result is even better than TrueVisions offering.

Thanks. When I pulled the plug on True Visions and internet in December I signed up with AIS Fibre for internet and have access to HOOQ through their set top box thingy, but the movies are so old and most of them do not have subtitles.

I get the latest releases.

If it's out on DVD (with subs) it's available with subs on Kodi.

Obviously streaming TV does not have subs though.

But your wife would only want to watch Thai news and channels anyway (which are also available on Kodi).

One time payment to buy the box which is loaded with all the software for streaming the global channels, most are in HD.  You connect the box to your TV through HDMI cable and connect to box to the internet by cable or wireless and you are ready to go.  It comes with a remote however, I just use a computer mouse.

True's cancellation of channels might or might not be within the rules, all I know is my cancellation of True's service after 23 years is MY rule. It's been a long arduous journey which has now come to an end. Good riddance True, good luck in your next life!

Bravo a man who put his mouth where his money goes.

Rules? True is under the misconception that their customers give a toss about their rules? I think True is about to find out, sooner rather than later, just what their customers think of their rules. I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to work out how a company that needs customers as much as a TV company, thinks it can continually p___s them off, yet retain their loyalty. TiT.

The Andriod box I have has another channel with western movies, some are latest releases, with the language dubbed in Thai.  The channel is called CinemaHD.

Being part of the biggest richest conglomerate in Thailand and holding a virtual monopoly in satellite broadcasting may lead them to think customers dont matter too much.
