St Louis Hospital Sathorn

Featured Replies

Have a persistent UTI so thought I would give it a try as nearer than Bumrungrad and as 'non profit' assumed it would be cheaper. Two minutes at most with the Urologist who only asked one question, did I think i got it from sex, well how would I know that? I asked if he thought I should get the mrs to have a test then, he did not even reply. Another script for anitbiotics, the 3rd one in a month. Price was 1,100 for Dr, nurse charge and pee test then 1372 baht for 20 antibiotics so do not really see where the 'non profit' comes in. As far as I recall that's not much different from Bumrungrad. In the past, including Bumrungrad, have asked for the name of the pills and bought them outside for about 1/20 of the price, St Louis would not give the name over, just Antibiotics so actually this place worked at more than Bumrungrad or Bangkok Hospital. Would not go there again mainly due to disinterested doctor. On the plus side the register staff were very good and spoke excellent English, far better than the Dr!

This was an experience with one doctor. It does not reflect every doctor at that hospital, there are many fine ones.

Possible to have bad experience in any hospital as all of them have at least some sub-par docs.

Unfortunately however the St Louis website is currently only in Thai which makes doctor selection a challenge.

Have you tried Dr Viroj at Bumrungrad? Highly recommended for urology.

I did say I would not go back because of the Dr, not the Hospital. I will try Dr Viroj next if it does not clear up. It is best to be able to pick a Dr off the website of course, and you cannot do that at St Louis, unless you can read Thai.
