No, you haven't got it straight because you haven't read the full report properly.  The police revoked her original driving licence after the collisions and she was insured.

I didn't say that she wouldn't be covered, I said she had an insurance policy, which she did.  Maybe you'd better check with her insurer about whether she was covered or not?

 

Have you not noticed that drivers convicted of drunk driving who have insurance policies are never charged with being uninsured at the same time which would be the easiest and most logical additional charge?  Why is that?

Because insurance policies provide coverage up to a certain limit, not always the lower legal limit as it can be and has been sucessfully argued that the legal limit is below the impairment threshold. There is no legal limit for an illegal substance.

The chest-mounted air-bags, and all the other plastic enhancements, should help in her next accident.

 

And, she never has to worry about drowning.
