hello members,

I have been going to Thailand on short holiday for many years never bothered with getting a visa as I qualify

for visa exempt on arrival , now have lots of  visa exempt stamps in my New zealand passport (I am kiwi) , I only stay for

3 weeks each visit and usually i have 2 trips there a year, My last visit was in July 2016 stayed 3 weeks. very soon i will

be going there again for another 3 weeks holiday. completed all travel arrangements and hotel reservations etc.

Lately i have been reading on this site about people being fined for not notifying immigration when they change where

they are staying.  I would like to know if i have to go to a immigration office or police station  every time i change

where i am staying during my travels there.

This  is my travel arrangements this time for the 3 weeks holiday.

Arrive in Bangkok from Sydney early evening and stay in Bangkok airport hotel 1 night              (1 night )

Next day mid afternoon fly to Khon Kaen to meet my Thai friend and stay KK hotel 1 night       ( 1 night

Next day bus to Banphai and stay at 1 night there (friends parents house)  (village)                    ( 1 night )

Next day bus back to Khon Kaen and stay 3 nights KK hotel                                                           ( 3 nights)

After 3 nights bus from Khon Kaen to Nong Khai stay hotel 3 nights                                               ( 3 nights)

Then travel to Chaing Mai and stay 4 nights in CM hotel.                                                                    ( 4 nights)

After travel to Hua Hin and stay 6 nights in HH hotel                                                                          ( 6 nights)

Then back to Bangkok stay 1 night airport hotel                                                                                    (1 night)

Next day fly back to new zealand via Sydney

This trip is the first time i have moved around as much as the other holidays there i only stayed 1 or 2 places.

1   My concern is is it necessary for me to have to report to immigration within 24 hours every time i change

location and hotel, and risk being fined if i dont.( it will be a big pain in the ass if i have to go to police stn or

immigration every time I change hotel location)

2   What will i write on the arrival form where i am staying in thailand.

I appreciate any advise that you can give me as i am a little unsure what am i supposed to do so. THANK YOU

Since you apparently will not be doing anything at a immigration office you have nothing to worry about. People are only fined when they go to certain immigration offices to get extensions and etc.

1. You do NOT have to do ANY reporting, that is the responsibility of each of your hotels.
2. You write the address of your FIRST hotel into the TM6 arrival card.

That is it... All... Nothing more for you to do.

As summed up, as you're staying at hotels, reporting is the domain of the hotels. You are a tourist staying for a few weeks at a time and won't (shouldn't) be questioned).

Bottom Line: Thailand likes short-term tourists. They get uppity when folk bounce the borders and try to stay for longer periods.
