brucegoniners
Hi all! Me again with more Jomtien questions. I know this question can end up down a number of rabbit holes, so to be very clear, since I will be in Jomtien on the beach side, I'm asking those in that area to share which mobile carrier they prefer. Although True Move is phenomenal everywhere else in Thailand (including in Pattaya), I've found it to be very spotty in Jomtien and East Pattaya when we've been in town to buy this house. Data is slow and calls are hard to hear on. I've had True forever, but that was in Bangkok. And like I said, no issues elsewhere either, until now. Can anyone in those areas recommend a mobile carrier that really kicks arse? If nobody is any better then I'll remain with True. But I hope I can improve my situation. Thanks again in advance for your help guys! Bruce
JamJar
Since it costs just 49 baht plus a 9 or 19 baht package to test another network.... AIS gives the most data for the money.
Lannig
Agreed, AIS gives the best service overall in my experience (small place upcountry, not in Pattaya) DTAC is OK for calls but data tends to be sluggish at times. True is bad and unreliable. Again, just my own experience in a small place. Someone else's mileage will vary.
pmugghc
I used to live at the northern end. No problem with DTAC 4G.
pegman
AIS gave me no problems over 3 years in Jomtien. Their outlets at Central Fest and TukCom are easy to get to.

JamJar
In fact, both DTAC and True have SIMs for 19 baht, if you avoid sill Tourist SIMS. So even cheaper to run a test. But if you are a heavy user of data, AIS is best for that, network permitting.
lou62
I've had AIS for years. No problem at all. I can't speak for any other company, as I've never needed to use them. Edit. I'm in Jomtien. Edited February 9, 2017 by lou62
