Phuket Governor to appeal for Bangla bars and clubs to close at 4am

PHUKET: The crackdown on bars and clubs along Bangla Rd in Patong was eased this week with provincial officials revealing they will formally request that the government issue special dispensation to allow entertainment venues on Phuket’s prime tourist party street to stay open until 4am.

MANILA (Reuters) - Four people died and more than 100 were injured after a powerful earthquake struck the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines late Friday, damaging some structures and cutting power in many areas, local officials said.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A member of the Federal Election Commission on Friday called on President Donald Trump to share any evidence he has to support a statement that voter fraud caused him and former Senator Kelly Ayotte to lose in New Hampshire in the 2016 U.S. election.

Duterte pushes for revival of death penalty

Citing data from the Bureau of Corrections showing over 3,000 percent increase of people convicted of heinous crimes after the abolition of death penalty in 2006, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is pushing for the reimposition of the capital punishment, The Manila Times Online reported on Saturday.
