BANGKOK: -- MISS Thailand Universe 2016 Chalita “Namtan” Suansane, took advantage of Valentine’s Day yesterday to visit “cute” Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House.

 

Chalita, fresh from competing in the recent 65th Miss Universe 2016 contest in the Philippines, was taken to Government House by Tourism and Sports Minister Korbkarn Wattanavrangkul to help to boost tourism in Thailand.

 

“He [Prayut] wished me to do my duties at my best and stay focused on my studies,” said Chalita, who is a junior studying microbiology at Mahasarakham University. 

 

“He [Prayut] is nothing like I see on TV. He is a very cute in person,” she added smiling.

Exactly my thought. If that big-boned, stubby-fingered, droopy-cheeked, ass-kissing semi-spinster is the best Thailand can offer to the - admittedly dumb - Miss Universe pageant, then the standards of womanhood in this country certainly are in the doldrums.

Not to denigrate her looks, but attractive females of this par seem quite common in big city malls. Realise beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder & all that, but these contests rarely come up with drop-dead, flawless beauty. Perhaps those of the latter are too humble to enter or too scared of the potential rejection, or just not all that shallow. Sorry, I'll get my coat.

Saw her on the 3Zap program Sunday. Very beautiful, much more than most beauty contest winners. Seems to have at least normal intelligence, too. I got to wondering how rich her family is. Almost all the big beauty contest winners are "coached" by a professional, so most of them are wealthy. Seems like most of the TV actresses are from pretty rich families, too.
