Plan to cut power, water after monks, followers rush in to temple; fugitive monk ‘hiding nearby’

BANGKOK: -- THE DEPARTMENT of Special Investigation (DSI) has asked for police and troop reinforcements and planned to cut off electricity and water to Dhammakaya Temple last night.

A DSI source said reinforcements were needed because a large number of followers had rushed in to obstruct their mission.

Busloads of supporters were also arriving from the provinces.

The source said officers would not raid the temple at night because there was a high risk of the action causing a confrontation and damage. Instead, they would seal off the temple and shut down its power and water supply, as such an action was allowed by under the order issued by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

For reinforcements, four companies of police – around 600 officers – would be deployed from Samut Prakan and Saraburi at temple’s fifth and sixth gates to control the temple followers, who broke through the police line |yesterday afternoon and tried to obstruct the operation.

I recall the monks entered through a side door when they were denied entery the other day when the place was surrounded by 3500 personel ! 600 reinforcements didn't have much impact either apparently ! I wonder if they checked to see if they have generators there prior to cutting off the power, this monk seems to be just that 1 step ahead of authorities from all the warnings they give him ! All the Gunna Do's to apprehend him !

They have 3,500 troops to arrest one man and they are calling for reinforcements.  Let's hope the Cocos Islands don't decide to invade and colonise Thailand.  The thais will get a fair whooping

The idiots keep leaving and coming back. STAY THERE!

I am sure they have adopted vietnamese tunnels for get in and out too. Still believe they have their own drilled water, deisel driven elctric, a barn full with diesel and plantations with vegetables as well as store rooms with frozen food. They will probably last a long time. As long as you have people that can defend the fences, nothing else is impossible.

Only 'plan' now to cut off the water an electric, theats the first thing they should have done

just bomb the place with RTA planes,  while they still have

 some flying @!!

Yet when the Yellows took over the airport all was fine.

Again, laying siege to a temple may make sense to military minds, especially those who's last experience was fending off the pesky Burmese ~ 250 years ago, but it doesn't appear to be an intelligent or humane strategy in this situation?

When are they going to learn that summoning these monks does <deleted> all?

You already have 3500 bodies what more do you need. Because monks are involved are half or more refusing to do their duty??

And why does this not surprise me?? I imagine they are talking this "summoning" thing over with the good abbot and getting his opinion.

That's why all the military have medals! Not sure which war they fought in.?
