ajarngreg
I've just read some stuff about Thailand and found this website. Is there really a law that you may not leave your house without knickers? Are there any foreigners who can say the full name for Bangkok? I didn't know how long the coastline is but knew all the others, except the underwear law. Is it just made up by the author? How trustworthy is "Rough Guide?" https://www.roughguides.com/article/facts-about-thailand/ Edited February 26, 2017 by ajarngreg

anon4546543
I also suspect that it has hidden meanings in it. If you look hard, it has many districts named in it. Indian Sanskrit and Sri Lankan, Kampuchean, Laos, Southern Vietnamese (Cham) have many double meanings, far beyond this poor soul to interpret but some have tried to educate me. In Asia, drivers must wear shirt while they driving and also all passengers. But in some holiday breaches, the police just close one eye.Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect

I recall in the 1990s reading about an incident where a Swiss tourist stepped on a coin he dropped to stop it from rolling away, and the people around him then proceeded to kick his ass. Every coin has a picture of you-know-who, therefore by stepping on the coin, well..... That one about the underwear is reminiscent of something from the Woody Allen movie "Bananas."
