Top policeman removed from his post over temple operation

The top policeman at the Klong Luang Police Station was removed from his post on Wednesday reportedly for failure to actively carry out operations at the Dhammakaya Temple in Pathum Thani province. 

 

Pol Colonel Kemapat Potipitak has lost the superintendent post at the station with immediate effect under the order signed by Provincial Police Region 1 commissioner Pol Lt General Chanthep Sesawet. 

 

Kemapat is now assigned to an inactive post at the Provincial Police Region 1 headquarters.

Lots of policeman seem to be losing their jobs for a variety of reasons these days.

As G & S once sang, "A policeman's lot is not an 'appy one"!

As an afterthought, maybe he can join the "Police Inactive Post Football league. No doubt ther are enough inactives for several dozen teams.

If he has been removed, do a proper job sack him.

I think it means he has been given envelope collecting duties. But you are right, he will be lower down on the distribution list.

Klong Luang district police chief transferred

 

 

BANGKOK: -- Klong Luang district police chief, Pol Col Khempat Pothipitak, was abruptly transferred to an inactive post at the operations centre of Region 1 Provincial Police Bureau.

 

Royal Thai Police Office deputy spokesman Pol Col Krisana Pattanacharoen said Wednesday that Pol Lt-Gen Charnthep Sesavech, commissioner of Region 1 Provincial Police Bureau, ordered Pol Col Khempat’s immediate transfer because he wanted the latter to do a proper job to be assigned by his superior.

 

He insisted that the transfer was not a punishment but for the sake of suitability.

 

The transfer order did not give the reason for the transfer, but observers noted that Pol Col Khempat is a follower of the Dhammakaya cult.

Given the embarrassment that the government is feeling over this, no senior officer would want to put his career on the line for this.  Wonder what skills Colonel Samart  has in his repertoire.   Hope it includes some understanding of real police work beyond shakedowns and perhaps few, if any, silly statements to the press.

Always been thinking about what work a person do at an inactive post? Where I have been looking most of the places they are place at or on seems to be as inactive as humanly possible.

Loose their job? Er not really. They get removed from their current post and placed in an inactive position. So all their activities get stopped. Harsh punishment indeed. But not the sack, unemployment or anything like that.

Damned if they do,damned if they don't, be meek and mild and get punished, go in and do the job with force and get punished, this temple assignment must be the most unpopular piece of work going.

The police force has their powers in Thailand, and the military has their powers.

  If thr police cannot find this former abbott, they all should lose their high status ranks,

and get reduced in rank. There is a deep corruption in Thailand, and it extends in the police 

force, as anyone can see if they are stopped for a traffic charge. cash only not receipt, thanks

move along. Been there done that. 

  If this guy has been sent to an inactive post, maybe he has to take more training away from

public eyes.  A transfer should be in order as well.

The police operate under the junta. Prayut has taken direct control of the operations through Article 44 and still failed to arrest Phra Dhammakaya. Perhaps he should be the one to  be place on inactive duty or removed for dereliction of duty. But then he is not accountable to anyone.

Absolutely. The RTP is just following orders from the Justice Minister Paibon who has been the man on a mission driving this attempt to nail Dharmachayo even after Klongchan Credit dropped the case. Paibon adviser is Buddha Issara, another arch enemy of the temple.

 

RTP is just doing their job and I doubt they really on the same page as Paibon. The police must be kicking themselves and asking why military don't take over the operation and now left them with an unpopular assignment. Expect to see more police officers removed and they do that purposefully to be transferred.

If they start removing police commanders and other government officials from their positions for failing to do/perform their actual work, the government's going to be in real trouble.

 

Pretty much, there would hardly be anyone left.

The problem with that personal cult goes much wider and way deeper than even the most pessimistic opponent might have been imagining. Outside of the massive brainwashing of over 3 million, now, 'lemmings' worldwide, the number of 'educated', 'better off', 'influential', 'high-so', big brass' and more of the same who contribute to the wealth and power of that poisonous octopus, might only be rivalled by the number of others who make money with- and from- this spreading gangrene, from shopkeepers at the next market, or local island communities, to real-estate business, over local officials and police... Stop it, now, at once, before it's too late, when you still can, ...when it's not too late already! Thaksin's 'red shirts' militias, with whom/which there, erm,  'might be' a strong alliance with, could in the long run prove to be a bunch of, admittedly very bad but, boy-scouts when compared to the destructive potential of that well organised (...and financed!) mega-army!
