I've been with the same women for 15 years now. She's all I want even though after the years the sex has slowed down. Everyday I work with and see beautiful women. I have to admit if approached I might be tempted. The one thing that keeps me faithful is what my wife said to me one day way back.

Women have affairs, men just have sex. Most of the time, if a woman has an affair, its for lots of complex reasons, its emotional, security, financial etc. For most men it is the same as getting a snack at 7/11.

Not so sure it is shameful, but certainly pitiful. If the OPs statement that his wife is psychotic and would cut off his manhood is not said in jest, he has more to be concerned about than infidelity.
