Hello,

I have a Non 0 Visa that has around 6 months didn't left

In around December i ran out of pages on my old passport and was required to get a new one

I posted in Thai visa about the transferring my visa in my old passport to my new one and also went immigration in Phuket to see if this was possible

I was told not to worry about it because you can carry your old passport and show them the vald visa with no issues

I had entered Thailand 3 times and everything went smoothly,  the immigration officer just references you old PP number on the entry stamp.. Easy

When i arrived this time the immigration officer didnt talk to me good at all, he took me to the waiting room while he was talking with his superior like i was some sort of criminal

i tried to explain to him about the visa but he was having no of it,  and his bosses were just smiling and nodding

I ended up with a 30 day tourist visa which isn't a issue because i have to return to work but why is it a isn't problem now and wasn't a issue before

I wanted to get peoples take on this

From my previous post it seemed like the norm to show both passports

was this guy just being a flog and making a big deal over nothing

and why did his duty manger agree

They didnt seem to worry about the other 3 entry i had this way

I not a easy thing to change now because i need my passport for work hence why i tried to do it all when i had time

Cheers

I have no idea what gave you a problem and only gave you a 30 day entry if your visa is still valid. Where was this at?

You could go to immigration and get the stamp corrected to a 90 day entry.

I would not worry about it nor get a new visa. I am certain it is a one off occurrence.

It was in Phuket, just thinking now because i have this tourist visa stamped in my passport they will continue to stamp it this way, even tho i have a valid visa.

Phuket airport is one of the worst to enter the country at. Many reports of them making problems for people on entry.

You do not have a tourist visa stamped in your passport. It is only a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

It can be considered a stamping error that can be corrected at a  immigration office since you have a valid multiple entry non-o visa that allows a 90 day entry.

Went to immergration yesterday and got my 90 day stamp

I spoke to the inspector and she said your old passport is valid until the visa expires

Should be fine as the they also wrote a note next to the stamp confirming this so hopefully no issues

from now on.

Dont quite understand how they can be on such different levels, being from the same department

Cheers for your help
