PHUKET:-- A group of ten bus operators in Phuket yesterday filed a complaint at the Damrongdharma Center, saying they had been cheated out of millions of baht by a company acting as a middleman in a rental contract.

Two bus operator representatives, Suthin Chandauykit and Thanapon Permpoonchonchart, told officers that a company named ‘Chill Duay Kan’ had rented 20 buses from them to transport Chinese tourists in Phuket and neighboring provinces.

The price negotiated in the contract was 50,000 baht per bus per month for a year-long contract.

Why does this go to the ombudsman and not to the police?

Maybe the police does not like to investigate.. easy for them to say its a private dispute between two companies and not fraud per se.

Police even in our country don't like these kind of cases and are reluctant to touch them.

In which case they have to go to court and proof fraud. The ombudsman has a different purpose.

If there is a contract, then the bus owners should sue the business in question.

Involving the police should not be necessary, and the ombudsman??

No company address....contract signed in a coffee shop....middleman involved and already paid by the company renting the buses .....:post-4641-1156694572::post-4641-1156694572: duuuuhh !!!!!

Very sad situation.

The world is drowning in scams.

Everyone has disappeared.

No-one exists.

They've been well and truly screwed, Thai-Style.

Surely the clue in all this nonsense is the need for a "middleman".

Alarm bells should be ringing when month 2 payment is halved, let alone no payment month 3.

It is civil matter and breach of contract. Nothing to do with the police or any other authority except for a court having juristiction and which has the power to determine and recognise whether a contract exists.
