Hello

I have a TOT fiber connection ( very good, BTW ), and for some reason, I would like to enter the modem configuration ( I have an Edimax modem and a ZET modem , I think the ZET modem is the one I want ( BTW, why two modems ? before, with ADSL , I have only one modem )

with ADSL before, I had to type 192.168.1.1 USER NAME:admin pass word:admin but for the ZET modem now, how to do it ?

thanks

I believe the fiber device is name is ZTE and its not a modem but what is a ONU or Optical Network Unit. It is controlling the incoming fiber line. TOT has all sorts of devices and if the ZTE does not have wireless ability then the Edimax may be the wireless router they are using.

All guesses here as a photo of each box would be handy

You probably not have a modem, at least not in the same manner as you had with your ADSL connection. If you have two devices you probably have Optical Network Terminal, which basically converts the optical signals into Ethernet. The second device is a Switch/WIFI Combo Router that provides wireless connections and offers several (often 4 Ethernet connections).

Some Fiber Optic Internet providers in Thailand install an all in one device, that have the Optical Network Terminal integrated and also offers an 4 port Ethernet Switch and Wireless connection (WIFI).

With a Fiber Optic Connection you can with entering the wrong settings mess up the connection of a whole neighborhood (many users). That’s one of the reasons why Fiber optic equipment is not for sale in Thailand and Fiber Optic Internet providers are reluctant to give you access to the setup of your device.

Thanks for your response; I remember that the technicin who installed the material told me that the ZTE was for the fiber and the Edimax was for wifi, so you are all right ( he didn't say it was a modem, it's me who call it  like that )

May be better I do nothing, I don't want to mess up the connection of other people

Hello, how can you enter in the configuration of ZTE, I can't ?; it's said that it takes to long to do it

is it possible that TOT, as said above by Richard.BKK , is reluctant to give access to the setup of the  device and forbids it ?

BTW, can I change the port forwardings  here ? because I have a problem with a VPN

Thanks

No, you just asked how to get into it, and my screen cap just showed that you how to get into it , the same way you did in the past.  Sorry,  but I am not about to provide you with tech support by messing around with my configuration.  Nor will I even try

Apparently some users of the ToT owned ZTE F660 router do a full reset on the router, this will get the router back to factory settings and factory default password. This is only an option for somebody who knows what they do, as the full reset will also delete all network and connection settings in the router.

ok, better I do nothing, I am not somebody who knows what he does about networks , in fact it works fine , better I don't change anything ,

anyway, with 192.168.1.1 nothing happens, don't know why

The address of the TOT-provided ZTE router should be the same as the "Gateway" entry in your computer (or connected Internet devices) IP settings.

If TOT configured the Edimax router up for you to provide WiFi-only function, then they would have 'disabled' most of its router features (like DHCP and Firewall) and connected a LAN cable to one of its LAN ports so everything works on the same LAN subnet (don't want Double-NAT by going through both router firewalls).  If you know the IP address of the ZTE then, usually, just increase the last quad by +1 and you should find the Edimax router web config server (ex; ZTE: 192,168,1.1, Edimax: 192,168,1,2)

TOT used to use common-set name/pass.  But listing it here would just make it that much easier for hackers to access your equipment and mess with your DNS settings, so I won't.  But you should be able to get them from TOT.   Damn! I just listed the password, didn't I?

Why do you want to access the ZTE router?

While it's unlikely a end-user misconfiguration would affect the neighboring connections, a misconfiguration could definitely throw your connection off. And other than setting the local LAN, DNS, DHCP Range, or port forwards  ...there isn't much more an end-user can configure.

I have the ZTE F620 Router , and I have an " astra MyDlink " box next to it.

I have been into my ZTE and I cannot find wireless , ssid or something where I can change my wifi password, cos at the moment I think every man and his dog who comes to our house is using it , and I want to stick or change the password.

Can anybody help please.

And exactly how did they get it ?

It can be accressed via the Admininstation Screen, but I am not sure that you can change the PW that the TOT installer set.  Mine asked me to make up a password during install but I would still be reluctant to change it now

The ZTE F620 Router doesn't provide WiFi.

If you have WiFi access then it's provided by some other box. You'll need to log into that box to change those settings.

That would be the " astra mydlink " box sitting to the side.

Problem is , I cannot find how to get into it.

Ignore above , sorted.

You can try  to 'guess' its IP address. Generally, when an ISP sets up a second box to provide WiFi they'll configure that box using the next available IP address.  So if your main router has a gateway address of 192.168.1.1, then they will set the WiFi as 192.168.1.2

If .2 turns out not to be its IP address, you can always download an IP Network Scanner pc app to find devices on your current IP subnet.  Just enter the IP 'range' you want to scan (so if your current IP address is 192.168.1.x then enter: 192.168.1.1/24  -or- enter it as: 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255).

As for name/pass, if this is a TOT Internet install then try Admin/tot or Admin/TOT

The OP has a ZTE F660 PON router which has 4 Ethernet ports, WIFI and USB.... see http://enterprise.zte.com.cn/en/products/network_lnfrastructure/broadband_access/xpon_olt/201401/t20140109_416587.html for full details...
