Exchange Money THB/ GBP to Australian dollars

Me and the Mrs are going to Sydney Austrlalia next month and need some help. I will be exchanging Thai baht to Aussie dollars ( wifey ) and me British pounds to Aussie dollars. Is it best to change the money here in  Bangkok ( superrich ) thai baht or at exchange shops in Sydney, same goes for British pounds, change here or in Sydney. anyone have previous experience where to get best rate . Have a look at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia`s foreign exchange rates on the net.

Today Thai Baht- Note Buy 28.05. Note Sell 23.92. Huge margin- they don`t really want your Thai money.

 

Here in Thailand - Siam Commercial Bank- currency exchange on the net.

Today Aust dollar- Note Sell 26.60. Note Buy 24.82.

 

Better change the Thai Baht before you go but I`ve had problems doing that. Both my banks here upcountry won`t order them & tell me to go to the airport.

Hope this helps- but arriving in Oz with Thai Baht is not too clever.

Definitely change to AUD in Bangkok before you fly out. Aussie banks offer absolutely atrocious exchange rates.
