BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has scrapped its three previous orders on provincial education reform in favour of a new one, which was issued on Monday.

Under the new NCPO order, the presidents of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries will be recruited as members of the Provincial Education Reform Commission.

The commission will also acquire the power to transfer missions and budget between units working under provincial and regional education offices.

In addition, the order gives provincial education committees the power to recruit and promote teachers and other education personnel.

Curriculum rarely gets a mention in these tap dance festivals.  Curriculum, performance monitoring of teachers and students seems to be what is needed.

It's all just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.I wouldn't read much into it...
