BANGKOK: -- The National Anti-Corruption Commission needs more staff to analyse documents and other evidence, Pol.General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, president of the NACC said on Thursday.

The NACC has been investigating one of largest corruption scandals in Thailand’s history. Former ministers, officials and former executives of some of the country’s biggest companies, such as Thai International Airways, PTT and PTT Exploration and Production, allegedly received kickbacks from Rolls- Royce, the UK-based jet engine manufacturer.

More people are needed for interrogation and document scrutiny, he said.

A proposal to appoint six more staff will be submitted to the NACC’s commissioner on April 11, he said.
