Transferring money into a thai bank account

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I will be arriving to Thailand on holiday and finalising some bookings of excursions, I will land in Bangkok in mid April and will spend the end of April in Phuket. Some of the activities will need to be paid for a few days in advance, as I will be in Bangkok during this time and the company is in Phuket, the most viable option seems to be making a bank transfer into the company's account from Bangkok.

I assume it's just a simple process of turning up at the bank, giving them the details of the account and company I'm depositing the money into and handing over the cash at the counter? Are there any fees etc that I should be aware of?

Many Thanks

You can easily do online internationnal money transfer if your bank has this option. Mine only charges 1$ per transaction

Yes if the company has its account in Phuket you will pay an out of province transfer fee if your account was opened in Bangkok. This will vary depending on the amount transferred.  Online banking fees (if you have that option) may be cheaper but suggest you check with your bank when there.
