Ah Johnny, don't forget who you are dealing with on the forum, because the "diehard trumpies" don't want to know/see/recognise anything which is contrary to their cult belief, so they refuse to believe it even when the words come out of their cult leader's mouth – – it is called cognitive dissonance, as if you didn't already know, and for others, this is an explanation of it: – There are four theoretic paradigms of cognitive dissonance, the mental stress people experienced when exposed to information that is inconsistent with their beliefs, ideals or values: Belief Disconfirmation, Induced Compliance, Free Choice, and Effort Justification, which respectively explain what happens after a person acts inconsistently, relative to their intellectual perspectives; what happens after a person makes decisions and what are the effects upon a person who has expended much effort to achieve a goal. Common to each paradigm of cognitive-dissonance theory is the tenet: People invested in a given perspective shall—when confronted with contrary evidence—expend great effort to justify retaining the challenged perspective. So you have absolutely no hope of being able to get these folk to see what is actually happening in the world, because they refuse to believe it, simple as that (however full marks for trying!). -

I'm of the opinion that Harris will win. All she has to do is avoid a total meltdown and rely upon a deep hatred of Trump to carry her to victory. So far, Trump has done nothing in this campaign to move the needle and he can't rely on being shot another couple of times to win. However, it wouldn't be AN if we didn't throw a couple of grenades. First, Harris is irritating many African-Americans. Second - there's plenty of people out there that just won't vote for a woman-of-colour as President. -

I'm an independent with no dog in the fight, and from my vantage point, both the pro-Harris-Leftist-Democrats and the Pro-MAGA-Republicans are both out of their minds and there is no reasoning with either side, although both sides will point at the other side and yell obscenities and call the other side every vile name in the book and insinuate that "the other side can't be reasoned with!!!" It would be pretty comical if it wasn't so freaking sad. -
