OK,

I made a mistake when I assigned the title to this thread. Sorry.

I am looking for a free online translator of more than one word from ENGLISH to THAI.

Babel Fish does not have Thai and thai2english.com only goes one way... So does anyone know of a good link that can translate English text (not just one word) into Thai?

Cheers for any links that are provided.

Try this: http://www.thai2english.com/

I'm not sure if it does more than one word or not as I ain't tried it (too busy) but have a go and see...

There isn't any that will be coherent enough. The languages are far too different for that. At best, it will give a vague idea of what you want to say.

There are a few services that attempt to do it though, see this pinned topic at the top of the forum:

Suparsit requires signup these days. When I used it, the results were incoherent and occasionally very funny.

To express the same things in two languages as far apart as these requires heavy rewriting.

Leave out all metaphors and similes and avoid using the passive form for best results. Use short sentences and do not worry so much about it looking fancy.

Example of how not to do it:

Hey Ben

How's it going you old bastard? Recently I popped down the pub for a few with the boys, and I had a bit of a banter with Burnsie, the old codger, but he spit the dummy bigtime. Sour grapes, eh?

Here's an example of something that might work a bit better:

Hello Ben

How are you? Yesterday I went to the pub to drink beer with my friends. I joked with Burnsie. The old guy, you know. He became really angry. I guess he was jealous. What do you think?

I have found www.thai-language.com to be useful. Can do either way & short phrases EN - TH. If you get really stuck it was possible to email the difficult bits & get a reply some time.
