Nongprue OKs 20 million baht for CCTV cameras

PATTAYA:--The Nongprue Sub-district Council approved the spending of 20 million baht to install more closed-circuit television cameras in 44 neighborhoods.

The outlay came after repeated complaints about thefts at Nongprue Public Park, where motorbikes regularly have been broken into and property stolen from under locked seats. The park currently has no cameras in the parking area.

Mayor Mai Chaiyanit said the sub-district hopes to install 120 new cameras this year, starting with two public parks and the highest-risk areas identified by neighborhood leaders. Eventually, schools, government buildings, temples and mosques all will get new or additional cameras, he said.

166,666 for a camera...........pretty steep!!

That can't be right , one camera is maybe 5000 baht . Or maybe they need to change the whole infrastructure at the same time ?

Looks heavily discounted to me.:whistling:

The cameras that were being ordered for the Bali Hai area a few weeks back were indicated as costing over Bt400k each (ok, presumably including cabling plus monitors, etc). Now, that is steep.:shock1:

The CCTV business is an absolute goldmine in Pattaya.
