Camping Vehicle for Two in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Pondering the idea of finally buying a vehicle here. Would like to be able to take off out of BKK in whatever direction (to beaches, for one), with the possibility of sleeping in the back. I guess a van would be best, but perhaps pickup with camper? Anyone done this? What sort of vehicle did you have? What worked? What did you wish you had? Thx.

No camping facilities in Thailand like you find in the majority of countries (caravan parks and camping grounds)not worth the hassle when you can rent accommodation in most areas for under 500 baht a night, last three trips we took our dog with us and had no trouble getting overnight accommodation

It's a very small community here.

I have never seen them personally, only on videos from the net.

only campers i have seen around Thailand had Chinese or foreign plates on them

I had a VW vanagon in the states and loved it
