Banharn's son 'qualified' to steer Chart Thai Pattana
By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Somsak Prissanananthakul has said a son of late Chart Thai Pattana defacto leader Banharn Silapa-archa is qualified to head the party.

Somsak said he did not introduce Warawut Silapa-archa as the next Chart Thai Pattana leader because he was Banharn’s son.

“Warawut is qualified because he is a young-generation man who has experience in politics,” Somsak said.

But he added that the party’s leadership was not a legacy to be handed to an heir and the decision on who would lead the party would be made during the party’s general meeting.

Banharn, who died in April last year, headed the Chart Thai Party before it was dissolved and rebranded Chart Thai Pattana.

He became an “adviser” for the party but really ruled behind the scenes.

With all those medals, he damned well ought to be qualified.  As a politician that is.

He won't be as wily as his father,by a long way.

No way is he qualified.

He is the only man in Thailand in uniform without para wings.

Incidentally, why does he have two combination locks on the left hand side of his stomach?

So one of the the dinosaur parties woke up again to Somsak Prissanananthakul's tunes. How nice.

I just hope the Army stays that long in power so all these old swines starve to death as it was them, irrespective of names and party they were heading at the time, to bring Thailand to the abyss it presently faces.

Give it another few years and then the memories of those vote canvassers, roaming the villages of the have-nothings, with colored pictures of candidates with a few bank notes stapled to it, will be gone and history.

He might be a little late in the season, his sister creamed the states coffers for zillions when selling some land to the state's coin minting facility; Daddy was a forerunner on Thailand's musical chair of political parties, jumping sides faster than you move a sail into the winds.

We remember;  the Constitution Court the Chart Thai Party and banned its executives, "Top" Warawut Slipa-Archa, included, from politics for five years - that is precisely five years ago. Before that he was executive in Daddy's lets-do-politics as a deputy transport minister.

I don't believe that Suphanburi will be renamed Warawut-Buri anytime soon; but Thailand was always good for real out-of-the-hat surprises, we'll see!

Of course not. But just in case anyone else is thinking they would like to be leader, let me just remind you of WHO is qualified. OKAY?

Party's leadership was not a legacy.. hmmm someone tell the Shins :shock1:

Of course politics is a family business its not about who is qualified at all.. its about keeping the power and spoils in the family.

The next government will be fully de-mock-ratic. An imitation of a democratic institution with none of the harmful side effects; like rule of law, free speech, and representation by population.
