Deputy provincial police chief Colonel Y Sokha said the accident happened at about 12.30am when the driver of a Toyota Alphard SUV crashed into the central reservation at high speed and collided with the lamppost.

“One Chinese man died immediately while another was seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment following the accident,” he said. Mr. Sokha did not identify the men but said, “The accident may have been caused by drunk driving.”
