Video: What a waste of money! Thai boxer banned from Japan for incompetence!

BANGKOK: -- A Thai boxer has been banned by the Japan Boxing Commission after a performance that looked more like swimming than fighting.

A video shows Aekkachai Saengthapthim - in the black shorts - coming out all guns blazing in a bantamweight contest against his Japanese adversary Haruaki Kamiya, reported Thai Rath.

But he is soon dispatched to the canvas after a completely inept display.

The fight took place on April 1st but the Japanese authorities said they were not fooled! Aekkachai has been banned for incompetence and wasting the money of spectators.

In fact he was one of five Thai boxers to be banned on the same charges after other fights earlier this month.

Aekkachai went into the fight with a one loss record as opposed to his opponent's six wins and no defeats. It soon becomes obvious that he is out of his depth.

Several Thai posters on YouTube suggested he should take up swimming with those flailing arms.

Mindza Tarepunnn said: "Funny - was he boxing or swimming?"

While Jirajus Waiwudhi suggested: "Just give up boxing".

Well they can always revert to selling street food in Bangkok..........oh! Maybe not!

In the time honoured tradition of boxing, an inexperienced boxer was sent into the ring. He lost and the Japanese boxer got to add another win to his record, making him more attractive to a promoter.

Instead of of an empty gesture against the Thai boxer, why not go after the promoter  who knew that the kid was not qualified to fight.  That poor kid is going to suffer brain damage if he  keeps being used as dive fodder.

I think he panicked when he realised he didn't have 7 mates behind him, to knock shit out of his opponent, as usually happens in real life.

obviously not a fair fight, the Thai never had his mates with him , he he.

hey Aekkachai we sign u up for boxing, sorry we can only read thai.

no elbows no knees no kicks. just hands...

Aekkachai:" waaat????? this is april's fool rite????"

Looks more like a fake K.O. to me.. with bets and all involved, I am not surprised.

You can see how he 'thinks' or does god knows what before he decides to collapse and be KO'ed.

he picked the wrong sport .

with a dive like that ,he should be playing soccer.  :post-4641-1156694572:

Nope, pretty normal there is a small delay between getting hit and actually going down.

If you look at his footwork it is extremely clear he has no clue how to box at this level. He runs after his punches, has trouble making turns, and doesn't stand firm enough to punch with power. He is only able to sometimes "hit" his apponent because he is missing the fear of the counterpunch (go to any boxing school and you will see similar things with beginners, only after a while you realize that attacking is maybe only half the game).

Very true....a boy fighting a man.

As a swimmer I hope he is better at breaststroke than he is at boxing!!!

My bet is the Thai lad can actually fight.  He seemed to be over extending on punches and turning too far into them, in almost a bid for the Japanese fella to plant a fake knockout blow on him.  The uppercut seemed also to have a delayed reaction on him , almost like a 'well that will do, better make it look more damning now' kinda effect.  Pretty sure both fighters knew the result long before stepping anywhere near the ring.

Only money, it's Thai.

The Thai guy came in against a much more experienced opponent and had a go! Screw the people laughing at him at screw the promoter for fixing an easy fight for their countryman.

I am great a breast stroke but I cannot swim

This is all normal for boxing and is the way boxers can get to the top with perfect records. Full credit to the guy for making the journey and entering the ring against a much more skilled opponent for a tiny purse.

"welcome" to the real world

It's clear the Thai won that fight.....better have a rematch in Thailand with a local referee officiating.

How on Earth such a stupid comment can have 12 likes ..ho sorry we are on ThaibashingVisa.

Yesir stupid comment because in real life I have never saw 8 Muay Thai boxers against a single opponent!

Pus if not experimented enough this young man had a good heart but was also unlucky, suffice to watch Youtube to realise even good professionals could be knock down in the first round.

They ought to ban the Japanese fighter, because he's not worth a cup of tea either.

The kid shouldn't be in the Ring He's a long way away to be ready for a real ring fight,,,,Blame the promoters/trainer they should be Banned from the sport.

A glass jaw or poor acting? Maybe he has a future in Thai soap operas.

I don't blame the Japanese. The Thai was completely out of his depth and those that put him in the ring should also be banned.
