The "Introductory offer" of 990 Baht is a pure decoy.

I checked about two weeks ahead, not a single seat.

It's more like 2114 Baht regular price.

But... with "Booking from 24th April..." a fare check made two weeks ago was irrelevant, no?

?

I found the news today and today checked prices from 9 June to about two weeks later.

No a trace of 990 Baht.

"Quickly sold out" would be the response I guess.

For 2 of the 52 weeks.  That's a bit less than a 4% sample.

You should expect that when they say upfront 'Our seats are limited and may not be available on all flights'.

How does the regular price of 2114 compare to other airlines?

I just checked about 15 dates and 2 seats are available on July 13 for 990. A handful of dates have a sale price of 1490.

Couldn't find a return for 990 but did see 1590 on July 18.

Sorry, I misread your post as checking fares 2 weeks ago. Not unusual on AA for the cheapest fares to appear to be hoovered up within a few hours of release. They must have some slick software that monitors the online bookings and constantly shifts the rapidly diminishing 990 baht fares around as planes fill up. I would assume that like most flights to Vietnam's coastal resorts, the Friday and Monday ones will be chock a block very quickly so maybe mid-week searches will have a better chance of finding the 'golden ticket'?

Anybody know what happened to AirAsia UTP > SIN?

Disappeared without a trace! or a mention -

Well observed!

I can not remember any report/post/mention.

From AirAsia's perspective it is clear: open new route with loud ballyhoo.

Close existing route silently.

The potential for U-Tapao seems still overestimated.

I think Utapao will come in when they get a good link to BKK. Mapthaput Highway is moving quickly - then double track on the rail line -

UTP is a great airport for 'khon Chonburi & Rayong' -
