Digital Economy & Society Min to develop Phuket into smart city

 

BANGKOK, 27 April 2017 (NNT) - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has unveiled its plan to develop Phuket into a smart city to foster the welfare of residents and tourists. 

During an evening government TV program, Minister of Digital Economy and Society Pichet Durongkaveroj said all sectors were interested in the Smart City project and were ready to help make Phuket one of the smart cities. 

Mr. Pichet disclosed the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society would help improve the tourism of the island province alongside other agencies. Modern technologies will be applied to the creation of new products and innovations that meet the needs of townspeople and visitors. 

The Minister of Digital Economy and Society commented that the scheme was expected to benefit tourists and enable relevant agencies to formulate development plans which will, in turn, strengthen the tourism sector.

Very vague and general, lacking anything remotely specific.  By smart they might mean affixing government vehicles with pot hole loggers or soil moisture monitors for public parks or roadside gardens ?   That would be smart.

Smart meaning:

1. Smart meters - to control everything

2. Smart cameras - to control everything

3. Smart everything to control everything

 

... smart means total surveillance, nothing more, nothing less.

A digital tyranny in the making and people think it's "smart".

A heaven on earth for any Government or other form of suppression ... and people think it's so much fun.

Idiocracy would be a much better name for it !!!

Ya Right. For sure. Nuff said...

And while all of this "smartness" is going on, you will fall into the sewer, break your ankle on uneven pavements, cut your leg an some jagged metal sticking out into the walkway...

Really smart

There have been plans touted many years ago to make Phuket a smart city.
