BANGKOK: -- Police have wrapped up investigating 174 cases pertaining to Wat Dhammakaya with 191 cases pending investigation, Pol Gen Srivara Rangseepromnakul, the deputy national police chief, disclosed on Monday.

Of the 174 cases which were completed, 44 were proceeded to the court and the rest of the cases which mostly concern violations of building act were dropped because the statute of limitations of the cases have expired.

Klong Luang police in Pathum Thani are responsible for investigating 218 cases while Klong Ha police, also in Pathum Thani, are responsible for probing 14 cases.

So the big bang has ended with a quiet fizz, nothing to see here, statute has

expired, back to normal, soon, we will even forget what was the whole hoopla

was all about, typical Thai....

Now I understand why Thai police act at snail-pace: by delaying; obfuscating and procrastinating, all cases can be made to go away in time with no action required on their part.

An act of Parliament could be enacted to shorten all  such to less than a week.  If no arrests are made within a week; case dismissed.

This headline says: "Look how hard we work!",  police completed a workload of 174 cases, but in essence 75% (130) of these cases were stamped "expired" and didn't require any more work than that. Yup, we look, see, and read between the lines....

An inflammatory post has been removed.

An off topic trolling post has been removed, there are a couple of topics already running regarding the "red bull cop killer case", please continue in those topics.
