webfact
Foreign Ministry receives police request to revoke Red Bull heir’s passport BANGKOK: -- Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai said today that the ministry has received the official request of Thong Lor police station to revoke the passport of Red Bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya. He said that it would take a few days to process the request and revoke his passport. Asked to comment on how the ministry could help to locate the heir after he was reported to leave Singapore, his last known destination, Mr Don said the ministry’s network overseas could act as ears and eyes. But he said it was not possible for its authorities to go out and find him everywhere unless clear information is received from the police. darksidedog
It's about bloody time and also a bit bloody late. If they had done it when they knew he was in the country, he wouldn't have been able to bugger off.

rkidlad
'But he said it was not possible for its authorities to go out and find him everywhere unless clear information is received from the police' And what if that 'clear information' is not forthcoming? Who can the buck be passed to then?

He'll have his ordinary passport revoked but it will be replaced by a diplomatic one or one from Montenegro ...

janclaes47
Just now, Father Fintan Stack said: There's no automatic linking between immigration databases. There's not even a link between all of the Thai entry and exit points throughout the country. The passport is merely scanned and put onto a country's system with the information contained on that page of the passport. Because something is not available in Thailand, doesn't mean it isn't available in the rest of the world, but if you say so.
colinneil
Foreign minister said it would take a few days to process b.ll.cks. Five minutes is all they need. Maybe playing the waiting game to see if the family come up with a bucket full of cash.

ukrules
1 hour ago, Father Fintan Stack said: My colleague's daughter works at Immigration, so I have it on good authority. Some countries may be linked certainly, but there's no magic button that is pressed that suddenly alerts all immigration authorities throughout the globe that a passport is cancelled. The only time it works is when someone is trying to travel out of, or into, the country that issued the passport. If they are already gone there's nothing Immigration can do except alert the country the perp is heading to or currently residing in, and let the authorities take action. Of course high profile alerts like this one may well filter through to foreign immigration and border control forces thanks to media and the internet. What should happen is that the passport number will be added to interpols SLTD database (Stolen and Lost Travel Documents) and lots of countries are connected to interpol and verify against this database at immigration.... They need to specifically request this though, just cancelling the passport on its own is not good enough, if someone were to forget to notify interpol than nothing would happen. https://www.interpol.int/INTERPOL-expertise/Border-management/SLTD-Database Also relevant, they use this in Thailand according to a recent press release : https://www.interpol.int/News-and-media/News/2017/N2017-036 Edited May 5, 2017 by ukrules
