Man arrested for lying about robbery to avoid scolding by wife
By The Nation

UDON THANI ;; --An Udon Thani man was arrested for allegedly faking a story about being robbed after spending Bt12,300 to take his secret lover to dine and drink, police said. Thirapong Suwan, 33, was arrested on Thursday after police noticed discrepancies in his story.

Under questioning, Thirapong admitted faking the story because he feared being scolded by his wife if she found out he had spent the cash throwing a party for his mistress.

Thirapong said he and his wife received bets for underground bookmaker. On Wednesday, his wife asked him to send Bt17,300 to the bookie, but he transferred only Bt5,000 and spent the rest on his lover.

He made an emergency 191 call to police at 8pm on Wednesday, claiming he had been robbed by six men. He then filed the case at Mueang Udon Thani police station, hoping to get a receipt of complaint to show to his wife.

But when police saw holes in the story and questioned him, he admitted lying. He was charged with falsifying a statement to the authorities.

Man definatly needs lessons in life choices and sensible decision making.

Stealing 12,000 from a bookie is going to cause him serious problems.

Wotking for an underground bookie? Hmm that's illegal isn't it?

I imagine his wife and the bookie are going to be somewhat upset he's revealed this information.

Filing a false robbery report with the BIB to cover up his actions that was so bad even they saw through it.

Guy comes across as being dumber than a sack of rocks.

Lies and scams now who would have thought that? Are you sure he was not trying to buy some cream to make it bigger?

Such a funny story I could tell about a guy who approached my wife asking her to ask me if I knew of any cream that would do such a thing.

It still makes me laugh 1 year later

It will now be a race between his wife and the bookie as who gets to beat him to a pulp first. He surly will get two seperate beat downs.Don't  think that his wife will not go after his "gik" and demand some pay back..The "gik" better be moving to the next town. This will still be a great story as it continues. to be played out.5555
