By The Nation

Police arrested a man and seized 20,300 methamphetamine pills in the Hat Yai district of Songkhla province early on Saturday.

Patrol police from the Hat Yai Police Station said they spotted Korchem Labaiyusoh, 40, waiting near a canal in Moo 3 village in Tambon Kuanlung at 1am.

Police allegedly found a bag containing the drug on his motorcycle.

Police said the suspect claimed he was paid Bt10,000 to deliver the drug to another man. He said he knew the person who hired him only as Bung.

Korchem was released from jail recently after serving a one-year sentence for drug abuse.
