Sahakorn Nikom Mine Tunnels, Kanchanaburi

The abandoned mine tunnels in Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi: 14.74691, 98.81435

THE LONGEST TUNNEL OF ANY KIND IN THAILAND

Three generations of Dr. Bhol family have been extracting lead minerals from the site for more than 100 years. Mine consists of 3 tunnels, first being the longest one at 2,400 meters. It is fairly new tourist attraction under the stone mountain dubbed by locals "Everest of Thailand" due to mountain peak resembling actual Himalayan summit. This is private property and permit is required to tour the tunnels.

A rough ride. Not for everyone.

What type of vehicles could go through there except motorbike?

A quad for example?

Could one "rent a ride"?

SUV rides thru tunnel are common. But you need permission from mine owner and pay some small fees.
