A lawyer representing Jidarat Phromkhun, 21, who is among four people accused of killing a woman and chopping her body into pieces, is applying for her release on bail after she told police on Wednesday that she had nothing to do with the killing in Khon Kaen.

Jidarat told Khao Suan Kwang police deputy superintendent Pol Lt-Colonel Supakrit Suwanrat on Wednesday morning that she was in Bangkok when the crime took place, although she admitted that the other suspects had travelled to see her.

Her lawyer Pibul Charoensuk said he had submitted a request to police investigators for Jidarat’s bail.

A police source said Jidarat might be allowed out on bail because the investigation had not indicated that she was involved in the killing and she had given useful information in the case.

Following the discovery of the body of Warisara Klinjui, 22, who was cut in two and put in buckets buried in a forest area in Khon Kaen’s Khao Suan Kwang district, police identified four suspects – Priyanuch Nonwangchai, 24, Wasin Namprom, 22, Kawita Rachada, 26, and Jidarat.

Warisara, Priyanuch, Kawita and Jidarat are believed to have worked together at a karaoke bar. Police have also indicated that Warisara might have provided information to authorities about a drugs case that contributed to one of the other women’s boyfriends going to jail, which could have been a motive in the killing.

Wasin and Jidarat are already in custody and Wasin has been brought for a re-enactment at the crime scene at a resort in Khon Kaen.

He reportedly admitted to being at the site but denied involvement in the killing and dismemberment.

Priyanuch and Kawita remained at large yesterday after they crossed into Myanmar last Thursday via Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai border before arrest warrants were issued.

Police are also applying for an arrest warrant for Apiwan Sattayabundit, 28, who fled along with the two others.

The three women’s seven-day border passes will expire on Thursday allowing Myanmar authorities to arrest them on the charges of overstay without having to wait for coordination on the murder charges in Thailand, according to Chiang Rai Immigration chief Pol Colonel Ekkorn Bussababodin.

Dismembered Khon Kaen bar girl was police drug snitch, says one suspect

Screen Shot 2560-05-31 at 4.11.58 PM.png

The murder of bar girl Warisara Klinju, 23, who worked in a karaoke bar in downtown Khon Kaen and whose body was found sawed in half, stuffed into garbage bags, and placed into plastic bins last Thursday, is getting more complicated.

It was reported last week that the young woman’s husband, contractor Sakchai Batthongdee, 35, was often working in other provinces and that, while he was away, she carried on a romantic affair with another woman. The victim’s mother, Sairung Klinjui, 42, also said that her daughter had a history of relationships with tomboy-like women.

It was originally assumed that the motive for the crime would have been related to jealousy over these relationships. However, one of the suspects that police have already picked up, Wasin Namprom, 22, said Warisara that was actually killed over giving the cops information related to drug dealing activities.

Dismembered woman’s final words: ‘If I survive, then you die’

By Sasiwan Mokkhasen, Staff Reporter

KHON KAEN — A woman accused of murder told her sister she only meant to hurt her victim as an act of revenge – at least until the woman threatened to kill her if she survived the attack. That’s when she allegedly sawed her in half.

That’s the story police said they got from Prapasiri Somsri on Wednesday, whose sister Preeyanuch “Preaw” Nonwangchai remains on the run along with two others for the gruesome May 23 murder.
