PHUKET: -- The tourists who are now coming to Phuket are mostly those with high spending power and mainly come from Scandinavia, Europe, followed by Asians, who are all traveling here to join Christmas celebrations, Tsunami ceremonies and New Year parties.

President of the Phuket Tourism Association, Maitree Narukatpichai said that 30,000 hotel rooms in Phuket are now almost fully booked and most will be fully booked until next year.

Many of the tourists who come to Phuket are confident in the potential of the Andaman as it is worth traveling for good prices and attractions. The tourism businesses expect positive arrivals for next year at 4.8 million.
