Respect has to earned. That pretty much rules out most Thai politicians, and every politician willing to sell his vote.

And Prayuth has earned respect how?

That has yet to happen.  He has done little or close to nothing for the country.  Instead he uses his usurped power to lash out at others who run for office.  He is delusional with a misplaced sense of grandeur and self worth.

PTP just follow the electoral rules which allow single and party list election. The reason for party list is also due to the fact that these participants are chosen to be ministers and they don't have to resign from their constituency as MP to take the positions. Holding by-election is a waste of time and tax payer money. Party list also need voters endorsement and Yingluck got hers.

I am glad you respect Sudarat for being elected as MP as against this present appointed non elected bunch in the NLA and government.

I admire Sudarat and I think that she could be a great PM for Thailand. In fact if Korn Korn Chatikavanij and Sudarat were to become leaders of their respective parties and combined them both they would stand a very good chance of winning the next election, provided that it comes along in the next few years.

Abhisit and the Democrat party carry too much baggage from 2010 as do Yingluck and Thaksin.

If the Democrats EVER manage to dump the dinosaur party executives, Abhisit and the ever present shadow of Suthep, they may stand some chance at the election. Similarly if the PTP were to dump Yingluck, Thaksin, most of the party heavyweights and the UDD, then make Sudarat the party leader they would also stand a good chance. Put both the parties together and between them as a coalition government the would do very well.

I am not sure if they could put the Army back in the bottle but it would be a good try.

Pretty sure that PTP are going to do just fine as they are.

They've won every election this century and I don't see the next one being any different - not even the rigged MMP system can stop them

You'd be better off keeping your words of wisdom for the Democrats, they're the only ones that need some advice on how to win an election.
