Baht up again on possible speculation

BANGKOK: -- The Thai baht rose for a second day Wednesday on speculation overseas investors will re-enter the Stock Exchange of Thailand to buy stocks.

The baht climbed 0.2 percent to 36.32 against the dollar.

"Thailand still looks quite bullish from the equities point of view and that means demand for the baht," said Steve Rowles, a foreign exchange analyst in Hong Kong at CFC Seymour.

"The Thai central bank said it "won't impose further measures and that clearly makes people feel more comfortable to come back to the market."

Ah ah ah it's great.

Poor Miss Tarisa.... :o

One option : to jump into the Chao Praya river. It could help her.

Too early to tell if the appreciation is due to speculators, but a few of us have expected speculators to come through the equity markets now that people have reacted as they have to the initial RR on equity. You obvioiusly do not live in Thailand, nor have any financial stake in the country. If you did, you wouldn't be so happy about this.

Really doesn't matter unless it is big money. If you send US$10,000 you might be light Baht 10,000. 1-2 baht one way or the other for tourist isn't much of an issue on a $. On US$10 MM it does matter. :o

I can think of plenty to do with 10,000 baht.......still the question remains...send now or later?

You don't get it : my joy is against this **** Tarisa, BOT CEO.

Furthermore, you continue to make a fundamental mistake : the problem is not the THB. The problem is the USD.

The USD is weak. And it will continue to be.

So the whole circus about THB, capital control, fight against "uggly farang speculation" is... a non sense.

should i tell you in a few days you should have sent it today? or should i tell you in a few days its good that you waited?

The question is unanswerable. Do what you gotta do and whatever happens, happens. You can't predict where the baht vs dollar rate will go so... why worry?? :o
