Just about every school in north America or Europe is better than Chula.  These metrics are more fluff than substance:

Universities were being evaluated according to the following six metrics: academic reputation, 40%; employee reputation, 10%; Faculty/Student Ratio , 20%; Citations per faculty, 20%; International faculty radio, 5% and International student ratio, 5%.

The production of world citizens would be more interesting.

Man, I am still stuck in 2017!

Not sure how they rank a university for a time not yet arrived. A lot could happen during the next six months. Must be some fortune telling organisation. :burp:

I guess MIT, Stanford, Harvard, CIT and Cambridge etc. must be shaking in their shoes!

Chulalongkorn University bagged best scores in chemical engineering and modern languages, being placed at 51-100 ranking of the world’s universities.

Would be interesting what kind of modern languages, ie. western (Roman / Germanic / Slavic) or eastern languages

According to QS top 1000 ranking*

55 out of 157 or about 35% of US universities ranked above 245

32 out of 76 or about 42% of UK universities ranked  above 245

There are 26,368 universities around the world.** being at 245 means you are in the first 0.9% of the list.

Here are  records for past 3 years***

but the web sites in Thailand are excellent. yes?

and the new multi billion baht MRO (aviation repair) center at U-Tapao will be excellent. yes?

and to fix Chulalongkorn University.. all they need to do..... is pay the ajarn more money. yes?

and improve the analysis and research of "education metrics" and all kinds of other stuff...... in Bangkok. yes?

whereas everywhere else in the world,

at least 15%, let's say, of the general population, has a love of learning.... about everything....

the schools are run by their local communities.... not from the national capitol

(notwithstanding that it can be centralized in very small countries, I guess...

is Luxzenborg a country? I have no idea.. I'm US)

and it is the quality of the students... not the lecturers... that a university focuses on....

and in the general population.... only travel (Disneyworld, Paris, London, Magic Mountain in Valencia, Knotts Berry Farm)...... vies with reading books.... as everyone's favorite #1 or #2 leisure activity.....

otherwise..... if not..... everywhere else in the world, we have found:

your web sites will suck,

your MRO centers will only get to do basic maintenance, not any of the 'heavy checks' which are actually profitable

and no one will be willing to pay the big bucks to send their "children" to university.

but this is Thailand.

The chemical bit I can vouch for as worked for a  Professor  in the UK (Ollis) who had Thai students come to work under him, one of them was extremely  good, even got a  Christmas  Card from the  ThaiRoyal Family somewhere which he gave me thanking him for his help.

245, nothing to publically brag about.

It is for most of the graduates who cant count that high. A few will pick up that 3 is missing between the 2 and the 4.
