Arrived Chiang Watanna 0845 and 25 ahead in queue.  Called at 0940 and passport returned with extension 1005.  Normal TM7 with 4x6cm photo attached, embassy income letter and copies of data/extension pages of passport and copy of (front/back) arrival card.  Three extra forms to sign (which officer filled out which much faster than previous fill out yourself).  Very smooth.

Note that last week at US Embassy income form required name to be first/middle/last and nothing can be crossed out on form.

two questions: 1. were they handing out queue numbers at the regular spot, or next to the retirement/marriage visa section. Last year when I went, I waited in the regular line for a queue number and then had to go around the corner to get the number from a lady handing them out separately.

2. Did they ask for any document about a "lease" for where you lived, or house registration documents from the owner?

Thanks

The normal lines are in front of all counters - just inside the entry door - there were 3 in operation and all were serving the normal extensions of stay AFAIK.  I used counter closest to the retirement side myself as that is closest to entry door.

No lease or home question/documents - but I am on record as married and living with wife so has never been asked.

Only new twist seemed to be retirement desk closest to entry being used to return passports after final signature - some people had a queue number called and presented passport there first and waited - suspect that was for after 30 day review for marriage service.

I have a few questions which I hope somebody can help with 1) Will a hospital inform the Thailand authorities (example the Thai immigration authorities) if a HIV test is positive 2) and will that give problems in getting the visa extension?

lopburi3 - Thanks a lot. I am sorry to ask but just wish to ensure that it is 100% correct. Is it the Thai law that says this?

HIV test results are private and the test results are as well unless it was requirement as part of physical exam done for some reason. Immigration does not require physical exams for anything they do.

Have no idea on legal status but at two hospitals I have been tested prior to surgery special paperwork had to be signed and you had to say on them how test results could be shared.
