Relatives of the prime suspect accused of killing and dismembering another woman in Khon Kaen last month said on Thursday they would visit her in prison on Friday, accompanied by her unidentified “fans”.

Police also plan to take Priyanuch Nonwangchai, 24, and two other suspects, Kawita Rachada, 26, and Apiwan Satayabundit, 28, to a provincial court on Friday to apply for a second 12-day detention period.

Priyanuch became an Internet sensation after she was accused of the killing and dismemberment of Warisara Klinjui, a 22-year-old with whom the three had worked at a karaoke bar. After the killing, she fled to Myanmar along with Kawita and Apiwan.

The three then surrendered to Myanmar police, who transferred them to Thai police on June 3 to face charges related to the gruesome crime. Two other suspects in custody are Wasin Namprom, 22, and Jidarat Phromkhun, 21.

Priyanuch’s brother Weerawat said he and relatives would visit her in prison on Friday, as the family had not been allowed to see her. He added that he had been told that unidentified fans of Priyanuch, who has been idolised by teenage girls online in response to her extensive social media presence, had expressed a desire also to visit the prison.

Khao Suan Kwang superintendent Pol Colonel Pakphum Pissamai said investigators continued to gather evidence in the ongoing case and were waiting for DNA test results. He said police would submit a case report along with their opinions on who should be indicted before the 84-day deadline.

His comments addressed statements that Jidarat should not be subjected to heavy penalties because she allegedly sold the victim’s valuables but was not present for the murder.

Deputy Provincial Police Region 4 chief Pol Maj-General Charoenwit Siwanit said only five suspects had been identified but more arrest warrants would be issued if other accomplices were involved.

He added that four suspects, excluding Jidarat, had been charged with premeditated murder, while Jidarat had not been force to re-enact the crime.

Investigators were still investigating her role, he said, adding that she might not be indicted.

Meanwhile, Narcotics Control Board secretary-general Sirinya Sitthichai confirmed that officers were investigating Priyanuch’s alleged drug trafficking activities and if they were linked to drug dealers in Tachileik town in Myanmar, where the women surrendered to authorities.

The agency was waiting for a report on that investigation, he said, adding that Priyanuch’s bank account was also being scrutinised.

Thailand.  Where you can brutally kill someone, dismember then, and become an internet idol if you are pretty & sexy.

And don't be harsh with my sister, she didn't do anything wrong, just sold the valuable of a murdered girl and she knew the girl had been murdered by her friends.

By the way, is it really true she was not involved in the murder or is it true she just wasn't in the room?

I have a bad feeling about this. That these girls will either be given light sentences or released on bail, the police saying there is not enough evidence. And who are these so-called fans? These women are suppose to be brutal murderers and it seems they are arranging a house warming party for her while she`s in custody?

Hope this is not going to transpire into another Thai farcical travesty of justice.

It's just a bit of murder and dismemberment... Not as if she was twerking in public, like that other teen idol. Now that would be serious. :post-4641-1156693976:

i am afraid these girls are going to be working their sentence off chained to a bed as someone's pets in a luxury condo in Bangkok.

really hard to find beautiful and genuine twisted and sick, that gets top dollar.

... brother will visit her in prison...

And no doubt the Nation (and others) will have a team there to reinforce the media driven celebrity status of several cold blooded murderers.

The media should be spending their time on keeping the public up to date on cases which tend to 'go quiet'.

I'll go with the story where Jidarat was afraid to not do as she was ordered to do by the 3 murderers. Not sure how brave I'd be if 3 guys that just murdered and dismembered a person I know told me to sell a phone or what ever. Poor girl was hanging out with the wrong crowd for sure.

All of these females are complicate in this murder, and I hope they all get several years in prison,

including the so called innocent one who sold the cell phone. You do the crime together, you hang

together, or at least face similar jail time together.  People who murder and get to live should be

very restricted in who can visit them in prison. Family members only.

Geezer

All this internet hullabaloo over some deranged killers is giving me an awfully bad taste in the mouth.

I guess the police, by letting this happen, might influence the court?

And that only after the court decided.
