BANGKOK, 16 June 2017 (NNT) – Kasikorn Bank analysts have continued to see a positive outlook for the Thai economy as its exports prop up revenue, government investment bolsters business and the US Federal Reserve’s policy interest rate adjustment is expected to the last for the year.

Economy and Market Research Executive of Kasikorn Bank Kobsit Silapachai has indicated the US Fed’s policy interest rate adjustment of 0.25 percent to 1.25 percent is likely its last for this year as it has already increased the rate twice in 2017. He also pointed out the country’s inflation is below standard, which should keep the dollar depressed.

Thailand Development and Research Institute (TDRI) Director of International Research and Consultation Kirida Paopichit meanwhile said that though private investment was sluggish in the first half of the year, Thailand’s tourism, export and private consumption sectors all expanded and will likely continue to expand. She especially noted improved farm income has propped up consumption and exports are now fueling the economy.

Since January 2017 the baht appreciated 5% against the US dollar. That's not going to bolster exports to the US. About 13% of Thai exports are sold to North American importers. If the dollar remains strong, Thai exports to North America are likely not to increase and may decrease.

everything looks rosy through tinted glasses .

No idea how thailand keeps going as well as is. coups, bombing, floodings, droughts, lost rice export credibility, massive corruption and stupidity yet baht still strong :-S
