Need to make it to the airport at 6 AM. What are my options from the town center? Didn't book accommodation yet, but preferably close to transport options.

You don't say what dates this event is going to take place. In this case I would say that Google is your best friend to check on the hotels. There are many to choose from and many will have limo's/taxi's available to get you to the airport, it's only about 15 minutes from the town centre to the airport. Good luck. 

Will be coming Sunday. I thought days of the week really don't matter much in Thailand.

In that case you have ample time to get your hotel booked in advance and be assured of a ride to the airport. Some hotels run a mini-bus service but these are usually related to the high end hotels.
