Mass ordination held in honor of HM late King

BANGKOK, 26 June 2017 (NNT) - The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Buddhist Mission for Remote People Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother and a group of Buddhist missionary monks have jointly organized a mass ordination for highland people in honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. 

A total of 349 men from 10 hill tribes such as Karen, Lahu, Akha and Hmong as well as men from other remote areas were ordained. Minister of Social Development and Human Security Pol.Gen.Adul Saengsingkaeo attended the event. 

Before the ordination ceremony at Wat Benchamabophit in Bangkok, the minister said the mass ordination project has organized continuously for 52 years, ordaining more than 10,000 men. 

The monks will stay in various temples in the northern provinces such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phrae and Lamphun.

LAHORE, Pakistan (Reuters) - An oil tanker crashed and exploded on a road in Pakistan on Sunday, killing 146 people, many of whom were collecting leaking fuel before it ignited, government officials and rescue workers said.

Police yet to file charges over 5 deaths at CPF plant
