New smartphone app saves time with police interviews

A university lecturer has developed an app to speed up police work that records and transcribes interviews into text then automatically saves it onto a computerised police investigation form.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Monday it appears the Syrian government is preparing for another chemical weapons attack and it warned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad he and his military would "pay a heavy price" if it conducts such an attack.

DETROIT (Reuters) - A federal judge late on Monday halted the deportation of all Iraqi nationals detained during immigration sweeps this month across the United States until at least July 10, expanding a stay he imposed last week that initially only protected 114 detainees from the Detroit area.

PHUKET: -- A novice monk who was walking collecting alms on Saturday morning was lucky to escape uninjured when an out-of-control car ploughed into parked motorbikes close to where he was walking forcing him to run for cover to avoid being hit.
