Presiding over the activity, Army chief Gen Chalermchai Sittisart commented that political and social problems, disunity among different groups of people and threats to the royal institution had undermined the nation’s security, adding all sectors should therefore promote patriotism among Thai people. The lecture featured guest speakers from the Special Warfare Command, Army Air Defense Command and First Army Area. Topics included the history of Thailand and the Royal Thai Army’s ideals. If, like my missus, you just wanna be left alone to work hard and enjoy 'your' life, then so be it. For all the 'good' people who spout off about how much they love their country and how good and moral they are, this isn't what good and moral people do. It's what narcissists do and they're usually doing it to divert attention away. Somtimes, the easiest way to do good things is to simply not do bad things.

Is the Army is going to be deployed to round up those who haven't embraced Prayuth and willing to devote their lives to him. Is it the role of an Army to tell people what and how to think, is it their job to stifle opinions of its countries citizens.

I think the scapegoats are already identified as those outside Bangkok, the farmers and other little people. The us and those that don't admire us.

June 30, 20178 yr Nationalism breeds rampant Patriotism which in turn stigmatises anyone who disagrees with their ideas as 'enemies' . It is the perfect and shortest route to repression and eventually genocide as anyone who disagrees with the government mindset is labeled an 'enemy of the state'. All genocidal instances in history start with a division of society into the 'Patriots' and the 'Traitors' and ends up in mass repression and human atrocities.
