King urges Thais to help solve all problems

All Thais should join hands to solving the various problems confronting the country, such as political, economic and security, His Majesty the King said in a New Year message to the nation.

On a positive note, His Majesty thanked the people for organising a "beautiful and grand" celebration to honour the 60th anniversary of the King's accession to the throne.

His Majesty also thanked all the well-wishers while he was hospitalised for their expressions of "genuine concern".

"I am still impressed to see all of you, regardless of gender or age or position, offering me moral support. This moral support is a vital force that enables people to confront problems and obstacles and allows them to live life successfully and complete their vocation."

His Majesty wished that everyone should give compassion, goodwill and encouragement to one another for the good of themselves and the Kingdom.

His Majesty's New Year greeting card to the Thai people this year showed the King dressed in long-sleeved yellow shirt sitting on a chair with his favourite canine, Khun Thong Daeng, and nine puppies descended from her.
