Uni students slammed after freshman eat excrement-like substance

Rajabhat Mamahsarakham University resolved to punish a group of senior students after their freshmen orientation activity involved freshmen being forced to eat what looked like liquid human waste.

 

The action was heavily criticised by Facebook users.

 

Acting rector of the university, Wutthipol Chatcharaskul, held an urgent meeting at the university at 10.30am on Monday after the clip of the orientation activity went viral when it was published on the popular page Black Queen of Heart @queentogetherisone.

 

The clip showed senior students spoon-feeding freshmen a yellow liquid, which looked like liquid excrement.

 

After the clip went viral, the university announced on its Facebook page, RMU, that it was conducting an investigation.

 

A senior student explained in a comment on the Black Queen of Heart page that it was not human waste but boiled pumpkin mixed with fermented fish.

 

After the meeting on Monday, Wutthipol said representatives of senior students who organised the activity admitted that they fed freshmen liquid that looked like human waste but was in fact ground pumpkin, fermented fish, tomato and vegetables.

 

Wutthipol said the senior students apologised and vowed to accept any penalty.

 

The acting rector said the university would take a week to consider an appropriate penalty.

Uni students are presumably the cream and future of Thailand. Oh well

What's the problem, it wasn't "liquid human waste" and even if it did look like it, so do many other foods the world over.  Get a life, student panks.

The problem is not student teasing freshman...

The problem is that Thailand wan to keep up an image which they can not in an open modern world.

Only solution is to close the internet or wake up and smell the fact about Thailand and accept that the world will see your true face.... ... and change little by little...

(or become the HUB of hypocrisy)

I think, the influence of US universities is not good for Thai.

The influence of any other countries sick activities will always be of interest to a sick university system in Thailand.  Of course the actual standard of education, or lack of it,  is totally disregarded. The eating of what may have been human excrement is only on a par with what comes out of Thai educationalists mouths.

But in Thailand there is no chance to become President.

they will talk about everything under the sun...... especially silly stuff, little things, one thing here or there....that's the best stuff........ but not certain topics... i.e. school decentralization... or..... putting it another way.... why they need fingerprint machines at the secondary schools..... as a starter topic. 

when they do, it's a rare exception and.... it's usually about how the students are being trained to look like soldiers.... stupid stuff..... so it becomes 'fix that little thing' and move along........meaning they misdirect.  

notwithstanding that it is.... and it is.... one of the biggest social contracts in Thailand. but the consequences are tremendous.

 

our daughter starts uni in a few weeks, if any of this crap is tried on her there will be some very sorry seniors. I cannot believe that the uni's still allow this garbage, there have been deaths involved in what they are forced to do along with extreme belittling, shows the total lack of brain power in the so called leaders. Then again most of those organizing it have the mental capacity of a 10 year old

 

Not all Thai universities tolerate this sort of idiocy. Unfortunately those who plan and carry out these brainless stunts don't have the intellectual capacity to envisage just how poorly such berhaviour reflects on their public image.. Too many idiots here  cripple their potential as a result of an inflated sense of privilege and entitlement. That so many young Thais actually submit to their demands reflects the other half of the society's major problem - that  a large majority of citizens willingly submit to insult and subjugation for no better reason than "tradition".  Slavery of the mind is just the beginning.
